Under the Reopening Ontario (A Flexible Response to COVID-19) Act, 2020 (ROA), specified businesses or organizations (including arenas) must require each patron who enters an area of the premises to provide, at the point of entry, proof of identification and proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The specified businesses or organizations must comply with this guidance document, pursuant to section 2.1(4) of Schedule 1 of O. Reg. 364/20. Limited exceptions apply.

Exceptions include, but are not limited to:

  3. Patrons who provide a written document, completed and supplied by a physician stating that the individual is exempt for a medical reason from being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and the effective time-period for the medical reason.

UPDATE FOLLOWING PROVINCIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

posted Sep 3, 2021, 10:39 AM

On September 1, 2021 the Provincial government announced that there will be a proof of vaccination requirement to access certain businesses and settings as of September 22, 2021.

As always with these announcements, we are waiting for the government to release the regulations with the details pertaining to sport.

We can confirm that once we have received the regulations for this our intention is to share Skate Ontario's events and programs vaccination policy and a template vaccination policy for clubs and skating schools. This will be followed by a virtual Town Hall to answer any questions you may have.

As soon as we have more information we will communicate it immediately. Please continue to check your email inbox and the Skate Ontario website for updates.
