What is synchronized skating?
Synchronized skating, or “synchro” is a specialized discipline of skating involving groups of eight or more skaters performing various group formations and maneuvers. The objective is for the team to perform as one unit executing circles, blocks, lines, wheels and intersections in unison to the music, while demonstrating quality edges, power and flow. Skate Canada’s SynchroSkate program includes a number of Synchronized Skating categories which accommodate skaters at any age and skill level.
Synchronized skating combines athleticism and artistry while encouraging fun and participation. The objective is to have all team members perform precisely in unison.
When is synchro offered?
Starting January 3, 2020, synchro will be offered on Friday nights from 6:00-6:50 pm at the Mike O'Neil arena in Manotick.
Who can join the synchro program?

There are a number of Synchronized Skating categories which accommodate skaters at any age and skill level. It is important for all synchronized skaters to improve their skating skills and therefore they are also enrolled in the Skate Canada StarSkate stream.

The skaters learn to skate with a partner, in lines with other skaters and to form the various synchro elements. A program will be created for the skaters to perform.
